We keep recipe blogs fast.
The slowest honest page on the internet is a recipe post: a wall of ad slots, a dozen process photos, a print button, and a recipe card that renders last. A US agency's white-label program (running2019 to 2022, site passes ledgered 2019-2020) delivered 646 optimization passes across 635 publisher domains, food-blog-heavy by every measure run on that ledger: a roster of recipe, cooking, and lifestyle blogs. As of July 2026, 433 of 635 still pass mobile field Core Web Vitals. This page is the record, sources attached.

01 · the recipe-page tax
Why the recipe post is the slowest honest page on the internet.
A recipe page ships more weight above the fold than almost any other publisher template, and every item on this card is a food-blog decision that pays the bills. So read it like a recipe: the ingredients are what the page carries, the method is what gets engineered around them.
Ingredients
what the page carries before the recipe- Header-bidding wrappersthe ad auction runs before the reader ever sees the dish photo
- Revive Adserverself-hosted house-ad delivery with its own request chain on top
- Step-by-step photo galleriesthe process shots ship full width, multi-MB before the card renders
- Print-recipe buttonshitting print re-renders the whole page from scratch
- Jump-to-Recipe anchorsthe signature scroll re-triggers layout work after first paint
- Recipe-card pluginsthe schema block arrives bundled with its own CSS and JS
Method
what gets engineered around them- Preload the dish photo (the real LCP element) and defer everything that is not it.
- Serve process shots at the size they render and lazy-load everything below the fold.
- Print stylesheets instead of a full page re-render.
- Reserve ad-slot dimensions up front so the card stops jumping.
- Keep the recipe card and its schema in the initial payload; trim the plugin extras.
None of these ingredients is a mistake. They pay for the blog. The job is to keep every one of them and stop them taxing the reader.
02 · the program, aggregate
One agency program, read off the ledger like a menu.
The food angle has a paper trail. A white-label program for a US agency's publisher roster (running 2019 to 2022) delivered speed work under the agency's name; the completed-work ledger from its site-pass era, 2019-2020, is the record. The menu below is the work plus the conditions it was delivered under, not highlights.
Read plainly: 646 passes across 635 domains means 11 sites came back for a second pass. The program billed under one umbrella contract, so these passes are never added to any direct-client count.
How food-heavy is that ledger? Food-blog-heavy by every measure run on it: ~26% of the 635 domains carry a recipe, food, or cooking keyword in the domain name alone, and manual samples of the ledger read 45 to 54% food.

03 · durability
Fast then. Still fast now.
A score from 2019-2020 proves nothing. In July 2026, all 635 surviving ledger domains were re-scanned with CrUX field data and PSI lab runs. 433 of 635 still pass mobile field Core Web Vitals: not a lab claim, the 75th percentile of what real visitors experience. The cut below is the strict one: passing in the field and 80+ on both mobile and desktop lab PSI.
The honest caveat: lab PSI drifts down over the years as ad networks add code, which is exactly why the cut is field-first. Where Google ranks, these sites are still passing.

04 · the biggest names, still green
The names you already know. Still green.
Six publishers from the same white-label program, picked for name recognition alone. Every one of them passes mobile field Core Web Vitals and scores 80+ on both mobile and desktop lab PSI in the July 2026 re-scan. Re-run any row yourself.

These six come from the same white-label program, a subset of the 88still-green showcase chosen by name recognition, not traffic. We hold no traffic data and rank nothing here.
Optimized under the white-label ledger, all 17 of these recipe and food publishers still pass field Core Web Vitals in the July 2026 scan. Each logo links to the live site.
